Ponderosa PeaceJam Wins Wind Turbine Grant!

Ponderosa PeaceJam is excited to announce the upcoming installation of a wind turbine through a generous grant from the Wind for Schools Project!

Through the installation of this wind turbine, over 1,400 students at Ponderosa, as well as students from across Douglas County School District, will have the opportunity to learn about wind energy, environmental engineering, and otherwise engage with this ever-growing job field.

A VERY special thanks goes out to Eliza Block, Grant Writer for the Douglas County Educational Foundation. Eliza was the grant writer for this project and worked tirelessly to ensure that everything went smoothly both during and after the grant phases. Thanks Eliza!

The wind turbine is set to be installed this fall! Please stay tuned for new updates!

About Wind for Schools:

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Wind Powering America program (at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory) sponsors the Wind for Schools Project to raise awareness in rural America about the benefits of wind energy while simultaneously developing a wind energy knowledge base in future leaders of our communities, states, and nation.
